WHEN & WHERE

 IT’S GOING DOWN (FOR REAL)

The Heartland HavOC3 is an annual CrossFit style competition. This year, it took place on September 29th (next year’s comp will be held on 9/21/2019). Check-ins were held at the following times:

  • Early check-in | Friday 3-6p
  • Regular check-in | Saturday 7-7:45a

Heat and lane assignments plus a full, printable schedule can be found here: HH HEATS AND SCHEDULE 2018. We expect this competition to run on time, if not early.

CrossFit OC3 is located at 3510 Vine Court in Davenport, IA. Street parking is available along with access to select neighboring lots (please park anywhere but the OC3, Arnold’s and CSI Place parking lots).

HISTORY

HOW HAVOC3 GOT STARTED

The Heartland HavOC3 started because Colin Cartee has competition running through his blood. It’s what he eats for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He has it for a snack and during his breaks. It’s his everyday reality and it never sleeps. Opening a gym was a dream come true for Colin, and getting to program and run an annual competition is the cherry on top!

Coming from a very competitive sports background, then coaching and eventually becoming a CrossFit Games athlete, Colin thrives on the adrenaline that is unique to competitions. It was only natural for him to create one he could call his own.

The Goal: For each and every HavOC3 competitor to feel like a CrossFit Games athlete.

Also important: Running things in a very professional, organized and fun manner. Thanks to an amazing staff, volunteers and co-owners Jessie Cartee and Kolton O’Day,  you’ll find this competition to run smoothly and on time. The facility will be clean and organized. Your needs will be taken care of and the judging will be on point!

There is no question that you’ll get your money’s worth as a Heartland HavOC3 athlete!

What are the comp standards?

Rx Division: Catered to the athletes who Rx 80+% of their class workouts. 

  • CTB- Not everyone will have to perform
  • C&J- 155/105
  • Snatch- 115/85
  • DU’s
  • Sandbag to shoulder- 150/100
  • Run
  • Row

Scaled Division: Catered to the athletes who modify most daily class workouts.

  • Pull-ups- Not everyone will have to perform
  • C&J- 115/85
  • Snatch- 95/65
  • DU’s- Not everyone will have to perform
  • Sandbag to shoulder- 100/70
  • Run

*** Reminder: This is NOT an all-inclusive list. There will be additional movements added. These standards are simply to help direct you and your team into the correct division. As we always say, if you Rx 80% of your regular class workouts you will be able to do Rx in this comp. Anything around or under that number should consider scaled.

In the rare event of an emergency, are you prepared?

Absolutely. Your safety is our top concern! EMTs are standing by during competition hours and there is always a defibrillator (AED) on-site at CrossFit OC3. Our entire staff is AED and CPR certified.

Will there be food?

Food and beverages will be available for purchase on-site. North Park Mall, several restaurants and grocery stores (Fresh Thyme, Natural Grocers and Hy-Vee to name a few) are within miles of CrossFit OC3.

HH athletes will enjoy a free team dinner on Saturday, catered by Ganzo’s Mexican Restaurant!
